Hi.

I'm recording my adventures in exploring my mother's food, my own food adventures and sometimes travel. That is Tyson, getting in the way as usual.

Airfry testing: Cornish Hens

Airfry testing: Cornish Hens

When I was home last weekend my mother was very excited about the $2 cornish game hens that she bought at the supermarket (and when I say bought, there was about 15). The plan was to just roast them in the toaster oven, but since they have a very nice Breville, we decided to try out the air fry function. After some consultation with my sister, we were on our way.

We kept the seasoning simple, with just some olive oil rubbed on and then salt & pepper. It was a total of about 30 minutes in the oven with one flip.

It resulted in some very juicy chicken - my test is always the white meat. If that is juicy, then you’re golden. The skin stayed crisp. Overall it reminded me of rotisserie chicken, which is a good thing. Highly recommend.
