Thai in the Rain
I won lottery tickets to a matinee show of Pictures From Home. I mostly wanted to see this since I’m a fan of Nathan Lane. It was at the historic Studio 54 which has been since transformed into a theater. I imagine many of the patrons that afternoon used to go in its heyday. The show was not bad, and Nathan Lane is always great.
Afterwards I stopped at a few theaters to buy some tickets to other shows (best way to avoid ticket fees). Afterwards, it started to rain, and then pour, so we took a dinner break at a Thai place on 9th, V{IV}. We started with the Crispy Spring Rolls and the Crab Rangoon.
The service was great; they were very friendly and these came out so fast, we were very impressed.
For entree, I went with a classic Pad Thai with chicken. I find it a good gauge on the quality of the Thai food if they can do this dish right. And my companion with the Pad Kee Mao.
Overall I really liked the food here. In fact, I think it’s one of the better Thai places I’ve been to on 9th ave. There are a few more I’d like to try, but I would definitely come back here.
