Hi.

I'm recording my adventures in exploring my mother's food, my own food adventures and sometimes travel. That is Tyson, getting in the way as usual.

Tears of the Kingdom released recently and we paid a visit to the Nintendo NY store to see what kind of merch they had available. Plus I like to see what kind of displays they have out to promote the game. It was less than I expected, but the store was very busy with a line outside just to get in.

On the way home, the weather was so nice, we walked quite a bit, plus I needed to return something at the Coach store. Since it was so nice to take a walk, we decided to do dinner at Serafina Osteria. I know there are multiple locations and for some reason I have never been here.

I wanted something light to start with so we got the Insalate Pere & Noci (Mesclun salad, walnuts, pears & truffle Pecorino Romano).

I was surprised at how much pear was in the salad. Typically they give a few small shavings of the fruit, but this had so much that you didn’t have to try to distribute it evenly between bites. Very satisfying.

For main course we just each did a plate of pasta, keeping it simple. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara (Pancetta, Parmigiano Reggiano, egg, crushed black pepper & extra virgin olive oil) while my companion had the Bucatini Alla Matriciana (Pancetta, onions, tomatoes & hot peppers).

There really is nothing like a fresh bowl of pasta.

The food was very solid, I would definitely come here again. We were so full at the end of the meal that we decided to skip dessert. (Gasp)
