Work Lunches Can Be Great
I had a 1 on 1 scheduled catch up, which is always nice to do. And having some good food to go along with it is a big bonus.
We headed to Tavola upon a recommendation of another colleague. We shared everything and decided on salad, pasta and pizza. (Should we call it a trifecta? I think we should).
We started with the Artichoke Arugula Salad. I wish they included more cheese than the 2 little triangles on the top. But it’s always nice to get a fresh start to a meal.
We went through much discussion as to what pizza to order. We thought for sure there would be leftovers and since I would be unable to take any home, we tried to find something that their child would want to eat. We settled on the Vesuviana (Chicken Meatballs, Roasted Red Peppers, Caramelized Onions, Tomato Basil). Joke’s on all of us, we ended up finishing the whole thing. Oops.
For pasta, I wanted to try out the Gnocchi, especially after they self-proclaimed them “soft as a cloud.” We had our choice of sauce, and while we chose the pesto, they interestingly make it as a tomato based sauce.
Lastly, as much as I was very full, we still decided on dessert.
We opted for the special dessert of the day, a passion fruit panna cotta, topped with a blueberry sauce. Light and tart and creamy. I do love a good panna cotta.
And then of course, somehow I was supposed to have dinner about 3 hours later. Good luck to me.
