Hi.

I'm recording my adventures in exploring my mother's food, my own food adventures and sometimes travel. That is Tyson, getting in the way as usual.

Harry Potter & KFC (Korean Fried Chicken)

Harry Potter & KFC (Korean Fried Chicken)

We had an early release from work the Friday before Memorial Day, so we took advantage and headed into the city to the Harry Potter Flagship Store, followed by the Harry Potter Exhibit.

I’ve been to the store before and it’s definitely worth a visit for those who really love Harry Potter and a browse for even the casual fan. The highlight for this trip was trying the Butterbeer ice cream.

It was quite sweet, but not bad. Would get it again. It tastes like vanilla soft serve with caramel swirled into it.

Then we headed over to the exhibit which was… okay. I expected more out of it with more props and it was much shorter than anticipated; it only took us about an hour to make it through the entire experience. There were some fun interactive things to do, but overall I think the Harry Potter exhibit they did at the NY Historical Society was much better. So afterwards the next logical stop was… Korean Fried Chicken.

I usually only do to-go at bb.q chicken, they make it so convenient as they literally have everything boxed up when you walk in. However, this was the first time I actually dined in. We still picked up the food like normal, but then took a table in the back. It was so busy we had to wait 10 minutes for a table. I had a mango lemonade, some corn salad and then of course, korean fried chicken.

The reason I like coming here so much is that they have this galbi flavored fried chicken… basically tossed in galbi marinate with some sesame seeds and scallions sprinkled on top.

I think this place is a chain of some sort, although this is the only location I know in the US. I believe they’re mostly in asia. So convenient and so tasty. Check it out if you’re in the market for a quick meal in k-town.
