Hi.

I'm recording my adventures in exploring my mother's food, my own food adventures and sometimes travel. That is Tyson, getting in the way as usual.

Sleep No More after Spanish Food

Sleep No More after Spanish Food

For years now I’ve been wanting to go to Sleep No More but for some reason or another, I just never made it. We had a friend coming to town and they suggested we go. So we bought tickets, the guest of Oz tickets at that, so no lines and reserved tables. It was quite luxurious. Of course the day we go is one of the hottest, and abnormally hot for the season. Unfortunately, our friend had to cancel their trip but I was luckily able to find someone else to come with us. What a unique experience. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but I highly recommend the experience. Definitely wear comfortable shoes and be ready for a light workout to see all the different storylines.

Prior to the show we went to dinner at Spanish Diner at Little Spain by Jose Andres. I was hoping for air conditioning considering the weather, but they had garage style doors all around which were opening with fans airing the place out. It did end up cooling down a bit after sitting awhile, so it wasn’t too bad.

We started with sharing the Pincho de tortilla & chicken croquetas.

This is what they call a Spanish omelet - inside a thin layer of egg is potatoes & onion. Really delicious.

For entree I had the Canelones Gratinados Con Foie (Chicken, pork and duck foie gras baked pasta with béchamel sauce and cheese). Just from the description I had to give it a try.

Also very delicious but also quite rich and very heavy especially on a hot day. The most disappointing part was that since we were heading to the show, I couldn’t take leftovers with me.

There were a lot more things on the menu I wanted to try and they had a variety of breakfast sandwiches which looked great. There’s always next time.
